Westphalia is a small unincorporated community located in Anderson County, Kansas, United States. It is situated in southeastern Kansas and has an estimated population of around 150 people. Founded in the late 1850s, the community was named after the German region of Westphalia. Westphalia is known for its historic stone Catholic church, St. Boniface, which was constructed in the late 1800s and is still in use today. The town also has a post office, a fire department, and a small convenience store. Agriculture is the primary industry in the area, with many of the residents engaged in farming and livestock raising. The scenic Flint Hills, a popular destination for outdoor activities such as hiking and camping, are located nearby.
